Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)

An IT professional who has earned the Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA®) is able to perform the core system administration skills required in Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments. The credential is earned after successfully passing the Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) Exam (EX200).

Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)

A Red Hat Certified Engineer certification is earned by an RHCSA who has demonstrated the knowledge, skill and ability required of a senior system administrator responsible for Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems.

A Red Hat Certified Engineer is able to perform the following tasks (in addition to tasks associated with RHCSA):

  • Configuration of static routes, packet filtering, and network address translation
  • Setting kernel runtime parameters
  • Building simple RPMs
  • Configuring an iSCSI initiator
  • Producing and delivering reports on system utilization
  • Using shell scripting to automate system maintenance tasks
  • Configuring system logging, including remote logging
  • Configuring a system to provide networking services, including HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, NFS, SMB, SMTP, SSH and NTP

Red Hat Certified Virtualization Administrator (RHCVA)

The RHCVA certification is for system administrators whose responsibilities require them to have the skill and knowledge to deploy and manage virtual hosts in production environments using Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager. Red Hat Certified Enterprise Microservices Developer

A Red Hat Certified Enterprise Microservices Developer is a Red Hat Certified Enterprise Application Developer (RHCEAD) who is able to develop reliable, performant JEE applications in a microservice-style environment and use Microprofile APIs to develop microservices enterprise Java applications.

Red Hat Certified JBoss Developers (RHCJDs) who take the Red Hat Certified Enterprise Application Developer Exam (EX183) become a Red Hat Certified Specialist in Enterprise Microservices Development. RHCJDs do not need to earn Red Hat Certified Enterprise Application Developer certification in order to earn this credential.

A Red Hat Certified Enterprise Microservices Developer is capable of performing these tasks:

  • Provide and obtain configuration properties through several environment-aware sources both internal and external to the application and made available through dependency injection or lookup using Configuration for Microprofile
  • Separate execution logic from business logic using Microprofile Fault Tolerance
  • Probe the state of a computing node from another machine using MicroProfile Health Check
  • Export monitoring data to management agents using Microprofile Metrics
  • Understand and apply MicroProfile Interoperable JWT RBAC: OpenID Connect (OIDC)–based JSON Web Tokens (JWTs) for role-based access control (RBAC) of microservice endpoints
